Ford's New Battery For Hybrids And Electric Vehicles

Ford has unveiled its latest plans to implement new battery technology in its hybrid vehicles that will eventually pave the way for the company’s electric vehicle series. The new battery is currently being tested in the Ford Escape Hybrid. The new batteries are more efficient, cheaper, lighter, and smaller. Everything you want in a good battery.
When it comes to batteries and hybrids, Ford has seemed to be a bit behind the times. As many companies, including Toyota, Honda, and even General Motors, have been adopting lithium-ion battery solutions, Ford has until recently stuck by their nickel metal hydride packs. Now, however, Ford will be switching to a lithium-ion setup that will have great implications for the company’s hybrid models. The new batteries, which will be integrated into the company’s cars between 2010 and 2012, are 5% more efficient, 50% lighter, and 25% smaller than their predecessors. Also, Ford estimates that the production costs will be reduced by around 30%.
This is exciting news for followers of Ford’s hybrid vehicles. Their hybrid models are already known as some of the best in the business, and the inclusion of lithium-ion technologies will make them even more so.Bad Taste dvdrip
