Enterprise Adds More Hybrid Rental Cars

Enterprise Rent-A-Car claims that they already have the largest rental fleet of hybrid vehicles in the world.  Well, they’re going to widen the margin, because they’ve recently announced that they would add an additional 5,000 hybrid vehicles to their fleet, bringing the total to about 10,000 hybrids.

They aren’t just adding a few hybrid cars to their lots, though.  They’re also creating what they call “Hybrid Branches” in Virginia.  Four of the company’s locations in that state will have the majority of their on-hand vehicles be hybrids.  One would assume that these four branches are very close to Washington, D.C.  It isn’t only the mid-Atlantic coast that is getting hybrid love from Enterprise, though.  They plan to increase their hybrid offerings in their 30 largest markets.  Seattle, St. Louis, Philadelphia, parts of Oregon, California, Colorado, etc., will all get an increased fleet of hybrid vehicles.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car has not specified the exact models that they will be choosing to fill out these 5,000 hybrid vehicles, but one would assume the Prius (which has been used by Enterprise for a few years, now) would constitute part of the order, as well as the new Honda Insight, and a variety of American hybrid models.
